Automotive Technician

The main responsibilities of this role include:

 

  • Perform inspections, repairs, maintenance and installations efficiently, safety and accurately according to the dealer’s and manufacture’s guidelines.
  • Diagnosis and document in detail the cause of concerns and related repair.
  • Work closely and communicate freely with other members of the team. This will include, but is not limited to other technicians and apprentices, parts consultants, service advisors, wash staff and sales personnel.
  • Inspect all vehicle for safety and operation and notify advisors immediately if additional repairs are required.
  • Notify shop supervisor and advisors if work cannot be completed in the allotted time.
  • Perform road tests as a quality check to verify the work performed.
  • Provide guidance and support to other members of the Technicians Team and Service Advisor Team
  • Maintain a clean and professional workspace while complying with all occupational safety requirements and protocols
  • Complete and maintain a proficient level of factory certification though web-based and instructor-led training in particular with respect to Electric Vehicles (EV)

 

Required Education:

  • Journeyman Technicians with Automotive Red Seal certification are preferred
  • We will also consider Apprentice Technicians currently enrolled in an accredited education program

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid driver's license and provide an ICBC Driver's Abstract
  • Be self-motivated and can work independently
  • A team player
  • Basic set of tools
  • Be very organized and hardworking
  • Takes pride in their work
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to work varied shifts
  • Open to overtime and extra shifts
  • Technicians certified and trained by Volkswagen Group brands are HIGHLY PREFERRED
