Junior Parts Advisor

We are currently seeking an experienced and customer-oriented Junior Parts Advisor to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

The Junior Parts Advisor plays a critical role in our dealership in ensuring that parts demanded by our customers are ordered, arranged and processed in a manner that is consistent with our daily operations. This position requires exceptional customer service skills, a solid knowledge of automotive parts, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records. The Parts Advisor will work closely with the Service Department, Technicians, and customers to ensure the efficient and timely fulfillment of parts orders, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and dealership profitability.

Responsibilities of this role include:

⦁ Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, in person, by email or by phone, by providing prompt assistance with their parts inquiries and needs.

⦁ Actively listen to customer requests, provide accurate product information, and suggest suitable parts and accessories based on their requirements.

⦁ Handle customer concerns or complaints regarding parts, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.

⦁ Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, striving to exceed their expectations.

⦁ Identify, locate, and order parts as per customer requests, utilizing appropriate catalogues, computerized inventory systems, and manufacturer databases.

⦁ Ensure accurate pricing, quoting, and processing of parts orders, including generating invoices and collecting payments.

⦁ Monitor and maintain optimum levels of parts inventory, conducting regular stock checks, and placing timely orders to replenish stock when needed.

⦁ Organize and manage incoming shipments, ensuring timely receipt, inspection, and storage of parts.

⦁ Properly label and store parts in designated areas to facilitate easy accessibility and efficient inventory management.

⦁ Collaborate with Service Advisors, Technicians, and other dealership personnel to ensure accurate identification and sourcing of parts required for repairs and maintenance.

⦁ Assist technicians in locating and retrieving parts from inventory, providing guidance and support as needed.

⦁ Communicate effectively with the Service Department to prioritize parts orders and expedite their delivery to minimize vehicle downtime.

⦁ Maintain accurate records of parts transactions, including sales, returns, and inventory adjustments, using computerized systems.

⦁ Generate reports on parts sales, inventory levels, and related metrics, providing insights for management decision-making.

⦁ Assist with general administrative duties, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining organized files and documentation.

⦁ Pick up and deliver parts to and from suppliers and customers on a relief basis when Parts Delivery Driver is unavailable.

Requirements/Qualifications:

⦁ Prior experience (2+ years) working in Customer Service is highly preferred

⦁ Valid B.C Class 5 Driver's License and clean driver’s abstract is required

⦁ High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive parts or related field is preferred.

⦁ Fluent command of written and spoken English is required. Fluency in a second language is preferred but not required

⦁ In-depth knowledge of automotive parts, including their identification, functions, and applications would be an asset

⦁ Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with customers and colleagues.

⦁ Proficiency in using computerized parts catalogues, inventory management systems, and MS Office applications.

⦁ Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

⦁ Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy in parts ordering, invoicing, and inventory management.

⦁ Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

This is a full-time position that requires availability inclusive of Saturdays. We offer a generous remuneration package along with benefits such as medical, dental, and an RSP-matching plan for eligible employees. The pay range advertised will vary based on experience.
