Job Summary
Join our dynamic automotive team as a Lube Technician, where your mechanical skills and passion for vehicle maintenance will help keep our customers’ vehicles running smoothly and safely. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform routine maintenance, tire services, fluid changes, basic inspections, and assist our Senior Technicians with more advanced repairs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their automotive skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented dealership environment. You’ll gain valuable experience working alongside experienced technicians while developing your knowledge and confidence in automotive repair.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform oil changes, fluid changes, fluid top-ups, and filter replacements promptly and accurately.
- Perform seasonal tire swaps, including wheel removal, installation, and proper torquing.
- Perform tire mounting and balancing using dealership equipment and proper procedures.
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist Senior Technicians with repairs, inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
- Assist with vehicle preparation, parts and tool gathering, vehicle movement, and other tasks as directed by Senior Technicians.
- Use hand tools, power tools, tire equipment, and other shop equipment safely and properly.
- Identify and report additional maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate technician or service advisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow Volkswagen and dealership procedures, including proper safety and repair procedures.
- Complete assigned work efficiently and accurately while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Handle heavy lifting of wheels, tires, parts, and equipment safely.
- Work as part of a team to ensure vehicles are completed efficiently and meet customer expectations.
Requirements
- Previous dealership or automotive repair experience is highly preferred.
- Strong interest in developing a career in the automotive service industry.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Previous experience with tire mounting and balancing is an asset.
- Ability to safely perform physical work, including lifting tires, wheels, and automotive components.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced technicians.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and dealership repair procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is an asset.
