Cold mornings go better when the car is already running. With remote start, the engine gets going while you finish your coffee or pull on your boots, and the cabin gets a head start on warming up before you ever open the door.
On the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan, that convenience comes on every trim. From the Trendline to the Highline Turbo R-Line, Remote Start is standard equipment. It also works alongside a long list of heated features that make the first few minutes of a winter drive far more comfortable.
The 2026 Tiguan lineup has four trims, and each one includes Remote Start. There is no package to add and no trim to step up to. If you drive home in a 2026 Tiguan, it has remote start.
Here is how the lineup looks:
That simple answer matters. Remote start is one of the features people use every day once the temperature drops, and it is one of the first things many shoppers ask about.
Remote start lets you start the engine before you get in. While it runs, the cabin starts to warm up, so you are not sitting on a cold seat waiting for the heater to catch up.
It comes in handy any time the vehicle has been sitting in the cold for hours, like the first drive of the day, the trip home after a long shift or the walk back to the car after a late movie.
Once you are inside, getting moving is quick. Every 2026 Tiguan has KESSY keyless access with a push-start button, so you can keep the key in your pocket and press a button to go. Every trim also comes with the myVW mobile app with myVW+ connected vehicle services.

Remote start works best when the rest of the cabin is set up to keep you warm. Every 2026 Tiguan has heated front seats as standard.
Every trim also has a heated steering wheel. The Trendline and Comfortline use a leatherette multi-function heated steering wheel. The Comfortline R-Line Black Edition and Highline Turbo R-Line get an R-Line leather multi-function heated sport steering wheel. Gripping an icy wheel is one of the worst parts of a winter morning, and the Tiguan takes care of it on every trim.
The Highline Turbo R-Line adds heated outer rear seats, so back-seat passengers stay warm too. It also moves up to three-zone electronic climate control with front and rear controls. The other three trims have dual-zone electronic climate control, which lets the driver and front passenger each pick a temperature.
A warm cabin is half the job on a frosty morning. You also need to see clearly.
Every 2026 Tiguan comes with heated exterior mirrors. On the Trendline, Comfortline and Comfortline R-Line Black Edition, they are power-adjustable and heated. The Highline Turbo R-Line uses heated mirrors with power-autofolding, memory and a reverse tilt-down function for the passenger side.
Heated washer nozzles are standard on every trim. They help keep washer fluid flowing in cold weather, so you can wash road salt and slush off the windshield. Rain-sensing wipers are standard too, and they switch on by themselves when the glass gets wet.
Here are the cold-weather features you get on every 2026 Tiguan:

Warm seats help you feel ready. Grip helps you get where you are going. Every 2026 Tiguan comes with 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard, along with Driving Profile Selection and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Trendline, Comfortline and Comfortline R-Line Black Edition use a 2.0 L 4-cylinder TSI engine with 201 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. The Highline Turbo R-Line uses a 2.0 L 4-cylinder TSI engine with 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Hill Hold Assist and Hill Descent Control are standard on every trim as well.
